Manifesto 2015

Conservative Manifesto 2015

Local homes for local people. Conservative East Devon is building and buying homes for rent. In 2014 some 300 affordable homes were provided for our young people. Another 300 will be built in 2015.

EDDC has cut time on the housing waiting list from 3 years to less than 12 months and this will continue to reduce.

EDDC council tax frozen for the 5th consecutive year. No cuts to front line services. We will continue to deliver exceptional value for money.

We continue to build a vibrant town at Cranbrook, the first new town in Devon for centuries. It is providing homes and employment opportunities at the nearby Science Park, Sky Park and Exeter airport.

We will continue to support our local economy through regeneration projects in our market and coastal towns.

Conservative East Devon will continue to conserve and enhance the Jurassic Coast shoreline, the Axe Valley wetlands, our nature reserves, the Blackdown Hills and East Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

We will continue to keep our streets clean, bins empty, parks and gardens in good order for both residents and visitors.

We will aim to improve our recycling to include kerbside collection of cardboard and mixed plastics.

Conservative East Devon will continue to support the wide range of leisure, arts and culture facilities it provides whilst helping to encourage a healthy lifestyle.

Independent auditors confirm that a Conservative administered East Devon provides excellent value for tax payers and is well run. This will continue.

■ East Devon has a constantly evolving plan which you can visit at http:// www.eastdevon.gov.uk/council_plan_2012-16_(2014_refresh).pdf .

We will continue to improve the plan with the sole aim of making things better for everyone living in East Devon.
